Susan and I have been friends for about 8 years now and we've experienced so many things together. We first met during my junior year of high school in 2003. {Where has the time gone?}
It's hard to believe all that has happened in these eight years. {She moved across the country to go to college at Oregon State in 2006. I stood beside her when she married her high school sweetheart, Casey, in 2008. She stood beside me when I got married in 2009. In the last 4 years, I have visited her in Oregon twice & Texas twice, and now she's in Colorado!}
But, this year has been the best yet! Susan and I always talked about our weddings way before being engaged, then the conversations turned to starting a family way before it would become a reality. We've always both had such a strong passion for being mommas. We jokingly talked about experiencing it together, but we didn't know God was really that funny. HE SURE IS! In January, I found out I was pregnant, then 3 weeks later, Susan found out she was also pregnant!
Let me just tell you what a blessing it was to get to experience pregnancy {good & bad} together. Though she may not have loved pregnancy as much as I did {am I crazy?}, we both now realize how lucky we are and just how GOOD God truly is.
Now, here we are, wrapping up 2011 with our two beautiful gifts. I can only hope that Anderson and Baylor someday have the kind of friendship that Susan and I have. I hope they can talk about anything together. I pray they love Jesus & are examples of Him. I can't wait to see them play sports together. Heck, maybe they'll be college roommates. ;)
A couple weeks ago, Susan and Casey were in Cincinnati to visit her family, so A & B finally got to meet. They "played" together, rode in the car together, and even got to meet Santa together for the first time. Here are just a few pics I took during Baylor's time here in Cincinnati:
Just makes me smile. :)
Adorable!
