First of all, how on earth is my BABY boy already FOUR months old? You’re joking, right? I wish.
He had his
4-month check up yesterday, and loved the doctor’s office yet again, even after
the shots! He got the same vaccines that he received at 2 months, and handled
it like a champ.
…His
4-month stats:
Weight: 14
lb 4 oz [39th percentile]
Height: 25
¼ in [64th percentile]
Head
Circumference: 43.3 cm/17 in [75th percentile]
He loved playing with the exam table paper!
"See mom, I can rip it!"
I am
shocked by how much longer he has gotten, considering at his 2-month visit, he
was not even 22 inches. Tall boy, with only a little chunk, but one HUGE head. :) {I’m sorry again, sweet
boy, but you’ve got your momma’s melon—it’s just a lot of brains, right?}
Little
Anderson Lee, you have changed SO much this month. It has been such a fun time
watching you grow and learn new things every moment of every day. Here’s what
you’ve been up to lately:
*You wear a
size 1 diaper.
*You wear
some 0-3 month clothing & have moved into a lot of your 3-6 month clothing.
{Momma gets a little sad every time she has to add things to the “Doesn’t Fit
Anymore” bin…}
*You eat 5 ½
ounces every 3-4 hours. [5 total feedings per day]
*You are a
talking machine… to the extreme. The only time your mouth isn’t running, is
when you’re eating or sleeping! I love listening to you babble and squeal and
so many people comment on just how much you like to chit chat.
*You are a
slobber fest. You are about to get your first tooth, so I’m sure that’s why.
Your little gum is so white and swollen, just waiting for the tooth to break
through the skin. Luckily though, it has not seemed to bother you one bit and
you love your teether toys!
*You love
your hands and feet. Your hands are always interlocked when you eat, it’s
almost like you’re praying & blessing your food so I think it’s simply
adorable! When your hands aren’t together, they’re most likely in that little
mouth of yours or grabbing on to anything you can find. Then, you like to look
at your feet and have started intentionally kicking Mr. Duckie during bath time
and you kick your “friends” on your activity gym.
*You LAUGH!
It’s my favorite. I fall in love with you over and over again every time you
giggle. You especially like to laugh when daddy plays with you and speaks some
crazy Spanish while he moves your arms and feet everywhere.
*You LOVE to
look at yourself in the mirror. You light up and you get the biggest smile on
your face, then you just squeal in excitement.
*You cough
and sneeze so much, probably because you’ve had a little congestion and cold just
about all month, but it’s so cute! You also clear your throat, and I think you
do it on purpose for attention sometimes.
*You rolled
over for the first time a few days ago! And you do it every now and then, but
of course, only when you feel like it {NEVER when momma has her video cam
ready}. But, you have just become so strong, it blows my mind.
*You have
learned to spit, and you think it’s fun & hilarious. You’ve begun to repeat
different sounds that momma & daddy make, which makes us laugh!
*Your hair is
getting lighter and lighter as more grows in. I’m convinced you may be a
blonde! Who would have thought my half-Puerto Rican dude would have blonde
hair? I guess that’s momma’s contribution, since you have your daddy’s brown
eyes.
{Am I crazy, or is that looking blonde?!}
*You still
love your bath time and are really starting to splish and splash, so much so
that the whole bathroom tends to get a little wet, and you send your sis, Lyla,
running out of there. {HA!}
*You have a
very laid back, content personality, and you don’t like to miss anything when
people are around. You just hang out and soak it all in. I love this about you. You RARELY
cry; just when you feel like fighting your nap or you are starving, otherwise
you are a smiley little thing!
*You love to
sit in your bumbo seat and watch TV and you have also started playing in your
ExerSaucer. Sometimes, you look a bit confused but it’s so cute to watch you
figure it all out.
*You don’t
really like to be held; only when you want to cuddle up and nap. Lately though,
when I pick you up, it’s almost like you’re reaching for me and you squeeze me
once you’re in my arms. Melt. My. Heart. And you really like hanging with your daddy when he gets home from work!
*You still
rock at sleeping through the night! You have only woken up a total of maybe 3-4
times since you started sleeping through the night when you were 7 weeks old.
You now sleep from about 10:30 p.m. until 9:30 a.m., sometimes even later! Yay!
Then, during the day, you might take one longer nap in the afternoon [an hour
and a half or two] and a few short cat naps here and there.
*The coolest
thing this month, in mommy’s opinion, is your already-developing musical
ability. :) I’ve been
helping teach a baby & pre-school Music Together class, so you get to come
with me. We sing, play along and dance along. Each week, you are so engaged as
you sit in my lap and you just smile at everyone in the room. BUT, the neatest
thing is that you coo IN TUNE with whatever song we are singing. Then, as we
finish a song, you begin talking and cooing on the EXACT note of the song’s
resting tone. Um, I think I could go ahead and claim that you are a musical
genius, but I’ll just say I’m quite happy that you ALREADY sing better than
daddy. ;)
Sweet,
precious, smiley, talkative, inquisitive, funny little boy, we love you beyond
words.
Blessed…blessed…blessed.
Happy 4 Month Birthday, ANDERSON!
