7 [and a half] months old...

Oops, mommy fails again. She's WAY late on posting.

Yep. It's true. I'm a stinky mommy, BUT I do not want to forget what little Anderson has been up to this month, even if he's now 7 and a half months old!
I took my little monkey to the doctor on May 2nd for his second of two shots for the flu vaccination, so we got to see how much he weighed. Can you BELIEVE he's 19 lb 15 oz {nearly 70th percentile} and just 7 months ago, he was born at 6 lb 15 oz. HOLY WOW. That's 13 pounds. In seven months. Big, growing boy! People used to comment on how little he was, and now it's, "wow, he's a big boy!"
Also, a little update on his head... I had his doctor pop in to take a look at his semi-crooked head to see if she thought it had improved and begun to even out, and sure enough....it has! WOO! She said it is still mildly asymmetrical {no baby has a perfectly round head}, but nothing to be concerned about. No need to go to a specialist and now that he is NEVER on his back unless in car seat or stroller, it will only get better {we hope}! Praise the Lord.

What else, Mr. Anderson boy?

*You wear a size 3 diaper
*You wear 6-9 or 6-12 month clothing, and 6-12 month or size 3 shoe. BIG feet.

*You take three 8 oz bottles a day, and eat 3 "meals" a day. You LOVE food. You name it, you'll eat it. You eat oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, then veggies with rice or oatmeal cereal for lunch and typically a mix of veggies and fruit for dinner. Yum. You've also tried little Gerber Graduates snacks and some mashed potatoes! Even more yum!
Ok, so I may have let him taste a little ice cream, too... mom of the year?
*You TALK nonstop. Mama, dada, baba and wawa seem to be your favorites, along with squealing and just noise in general. Completely precious, though you don't understand who "mama" or "dada" really are yet.
*You have been sitting up on your own, and completely stable, for just over a month now. You have a look on your face like you are so cool when you're hanging out and playing in the floor with all your toys.
*You love to be outside and you are infatuated with the grass when you touch it, but I think it tickles your feet a little. :)
I just adore this picture.
*You are starting to occasionally take "steps" when you stand if we hold on to you! You also ADORE your Grammy. Lots of smiles as soon as you see her. She is in love with you too, don't worry!

*You are extremely interactive with people and you're so engaged when others are around. You smile, giggle, squeal, and flirt. I love how you are so interested & not shy at all. May you stay that way! :)
*Tummy time isn't so bad anymore. In fact, you now enjoy it. You prop yourself up to see and reach all of your toys and you occasionally look like you might attempt figuring out crawling, but you're still not incredibly interested. Standing and climbing are more your thing.
*You have become quite the squirmer, which makes diaper changes really fun challenging. You occasionally grab your "junk" if ya know what I mean, or you roll around and move like crazy. Also, for whatever reason,  you are obsessed with the hand sanitizer, so you reach for it and pick it up during every diaper change. I mean, I'm glad you want to wash your hands. ;)
*You CLAP... I'd say at least 50% of the day. I'm thinking you learned it in music class, but you are just always dancing, jumping or clapping.
*You LOVE being in a shopping cart or a high chair when we are out and about. You keep yourself entertained while momma is shopping or when we're out to eat. At the table at dinner, you entertain yourself the whole time. You enjoy playing with napkins and straws more than playing with some of your toys. Free vs. Not Free... I'll take it.
*Thankfully, you've been in your "big boy" car seat for over a month now and you love it so much more, since you can sit more upright and see out the windows. I look back at you sometimes, and you'll be leaning forward sitting up and looking out the window, and it makes me realize you are not a BABY anymore.
*Your jumperoo is probably your favorite right now, and you still love watching cartoons after breakfast each morning, while you're jumping. Makes for a great time for momma to get laundry going and enjoy her morning cup of coffee.
*You've been sleeping even MORE this month. You go to bed anywhere from 9:15-9:45, and on a typical day you'll wake up around 9. There are still a few days when you've had a long day, that you'll sleep until almost 10. Teenager, already? I miss cuddling you before bedtime, but you love to snuggle with your Soothe & Glow Seahorse and fall asleep on your own each night. Sometimes, when I go check on you before I go to bed, your arm will still be around it. Adorable. You have become a GREAT napper as well, and typically take a late morning nap, and then an afternoon nap. Most of the time, each nap is about an hour and a half, but if you miss one of your naps, it can sometimes be as long as 2-3 hours.
There is just something so precious and peaceful about a sleeping baby boy!
*You sit up in your bathtub now and love it! We took out the divider so now you can sit up and play with everything in your whale tub!
*You have really perfected your "raised eyebrow stare." See above. Everyone comments on how serious and observant you are. You're either smiling or giving this funny little scowl.
*You're beginning to look more and more like daddy, when you smile. Melt me.

Once again, I know I'm forgetting so much. There is just always something new. It amazes me how much you learn and how much you change each and every day. I am just in awe, and LOVE that I'm your momma. God is stinkin' good...how lucky am I, seriously, to have you as my boy. I love you my sweet, goofy Anderson. You are just so special to us.
